This Privacy Policy explains how TownSignal collects, uses, and protects information when you use the TownSignal website and subscription service.

We may collect account information such as your name, business email, company name, plan, billing status, alert preferences, topic packs, municipality selections, and Slack delivery settings if you connect Slack.

We may collect usage information such as login activity, pages viewed, alerts delivered, emails opened or clicked, service errors, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from IP address.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide the service, send alerts, manage subscriptions, support users, improve coverage and matching quality, secure the service, troubleshoot issues, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Data sale

TownSignal does not sell personal data.

5. Processors and service providers

TownSignal may use processors and service providers to operate the service. These may include Stripe for billing and an email provider for transactional messages and alert delivery. Additional infrastructure, hosting, analytics, security, and support providers may be used as the service develops.

6. Public municipal data

TownSignal processes public municipal documents and metadata to generate alerts. Alerts may include cited excerpts and source references from public materials.

7. Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, improve product quality, and comply with legal obligations.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards for the service. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

9. Data requests

You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your account information by emailing jbriss@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

10. Changes

TownSignal may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. The updated date will show when the policy was last revised.
