Terms of Service

1. Service

TownSignal provides a software subscription service that monitors selected public municipal sources and sends topic-matched alerts by email, Slack, or other supported channels. Alerts may include matched items, excerpts, source links, page references, meeting dates, and short explanations.

TownSignal is an early-access service. Coverage, supported municipalities, supported sources, alert formats, and delivery channels may change as the service develops.

2. Accounts and access

You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and for protecting access to your email, Slack workspace, and any other connected delivery channel. You must notify TownSignal if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Billing and subscriptions

Paid plans are subscription-based and may renew monthly or annually depending on the plan selected. Fees, limits, and features are shown at signup or in a written order. Annual billing may include two months free when offered.

Taxes, if applicable, may be added to subscription fees. TownSignal may update pricing or plan limits with notice before the change applies to an existing paid subscription.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use TownSignal to violate law, infringe rights, interfere with the service, bypass usage limits, scrape or resell the service output as a competing product, or attempt unauthorized access to TownSignal systems or data.

5. Public-source information

TownSignal works with public municipal materials and uses source citations to help users evaluate alerts. You are responsible for reviewing original source materials and making your own business, legal, regulatory, or filing decisions.

6. Disclaimers

The service is provided as is and as available. TownSignal does not warrant that alerts will be complete, uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every use case. TownSignal does not provide legal, financial, permitting, or regulatory advice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TownSignal will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business opportunities, or lost data. TownSignal's total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts paid for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

8. Termination

You may cancel according to the Refunds and Cancellation policy. TownSignal may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, security risk, illegal use, or material breach of these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
